Splash Acceleration
What is SPLASH Time at Decker Elementary?
SPLASH Time is a dedicated 30-minute block built into our school day to support and accelerate student learning. During this time, every scholar receives intentional academic support tailored to their unique needs. Some students work independently on personalized learning activities, while others engage in small group instruction with their classroom teachers or interventionists. Whether a student needs extra practice, enrichment, or targeted intervention, SPLASH Time is designed to meet them where they are and help them grow.
Why SPLASH Time Matters
At Decker Elementary, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed—and that success looks different for every scholar. SPLASH Time is our commitment to equity and excellence. By carving out structured time for personalized learning, we ensure that no student is overlooked and that all students are challenged at the right level. This focused approach allows educators to close learning gaps, accelerate progress, and build student confidence in a supportive, low-stress setting.
How It Works
-
Individualized Learning: Students use adaptive technology or enrichment tasks to build on skills at their own pace.
-
Targeted Small Groups: Teachers and interventionists work with small groups to reteach, reinforce, or extend learning based on student data.
-
Flexible Grouping: Student groups are fluid and based on ongoing assessments, ensuring instruction stays relevant and responsive.
-
Cross-Grade Collaboration: Teachers collaborate regularly to align instruction, monitor progress, and share best practices during SPLASH Time.
The Impact
SPLASH Time is more than just an academic period—it’s a schoolwide strategy to empower our scholars. With focused instruction, strong teacher collaboration, and a belief in every child’s potential, we are creating a ripple effect of growth that reaches beyond the classroom.
